Sending all the luck to Jess Fowler, Elizabeth Lord and all of @psc_taurus at the IASF Cheerleading World Championships in Florida this weekend with their Under 18 team ‘Taurus’, part of Phoenix Stars Cheerleaders in Salisbury. 📣🤸‍♀️💥 It has taken her a great deal of dedication and hard work building skills such as team work and resilience to get to this point which are qualities to be celebrated! 👏 🏆

In the Easter break Mr Kenrick and staff took Year 10 & 11 students across the Academy to watch a stage production of Macbeth in London. Due to a last minute change of itinerary we had a quick hour to experience the Tate Modern. It was a lovely sunny day and students (as always) were on top form! 🎭 🙌 🇬🇧 ☀️

Yesterday as a reward for positive and improved behaviour across the year, 11 boys in year 8, 9 & 10 visited the Vitality Stadium, home to AFC Bournemouth ⚽️ ☀️ They had tour around the stadium and got to sit pitch side as well as meeting ex-player Ian Cox, and the current manager and assistant manager of the women’s team 🙌They also took part in an important workshop called ‘No room for Racism’, as part of a Premier League initiative 👍They did us proud, and their maturity during difficult conversations was noted by staff working at the event. 👏👏👏

An absolutely amazing Yr 7 disco last night 🪩 👏 Students and staff busting all the moves 💃🏽 🕺🏼 and most importantly having fun! 🤙🏽Thank you to Mrs Webster, the Year 7 tutors and all staff who were involved 🙏🏽 the fundraising paid off! 🎉

30 students from Year 11 went go karting in Southampton as a reward for being the top 30 in the year group for attending revision sessions at lunch times/after school. 🙌They all had a great time - we had crashes, dodgy corners, head on collisions, handbrake turns, driving at a snail’s pace, the whole sherbang! 😅The staff at the venue were really impressed with them, especially their behaviour 👏🚗 🏆

🇪🇸 🇬🇧 Today we said goodbye to our Spanish friends. What an amazing last day in London 👍 ☀️ All students were brilliantly behaved- AVA is proud! 🙌 Thanks Mrs Roderigo for being our walking guide! A massive thanks to Mrs Dreshler and Mr Borland for organising the whole exchange. We are looking forward to hopefully returning the visit later this year! ✈️ 🤞🏽

Yesterday Y10 Spanish group joined by IES Corona Aragon walked to Stonehenge - Students had a lovely day and the sun was shining ☀️ Everyone had a great time looking at the stones and taking pictures! 📸 🙌

30 students from IES Corona in Zaragoza, Spain🇪🇸have come to spend 3 days with our year 10 Spanish students. Today, they were in two groups experiencing life in an English school 🇬🇧 They had an assembly from Mrs Tuke, a tour given by our year 10s, an hour of team building, and then a variety of lessons like PE (capture the flag), History, Maths, Cooking and ‘an about me’ lesson. 🥞 🙌
